Lore of Kuroshi

Welcome to the world of Kuroshi; a world presently consisting of three nations and the perilous Ogran Ocean... a world that is rife with, ravaged and ruled by mana – the raw energy and memory of all things magical and miraculous. It allows people to transform vegetations into gargantuan bounties to feed those who might starve. It allows people to war and pursue their trajectories with potentially infinite might. Most contentiously, however, mana acts independently in reaction to its own magic, altering the very scope of the land and its creatures in great and terrible ways. Such occurrences are refereed to as “magical anomalies.”

The global instability wrought by the products of mana has inspired a perpetual war between Achahtai, Galorvia and the Ichtabb nation.

Achahtai (The location of Iechi)

Achahtai is more-or-less entirely covered in forest-land and untamed nature. They have only settled a relatively small number of towns, cities and villages, all connected by long roads that weave through the treacherous wildlife.

The reason for this lack of development lies in the sheer power of the fae creatures and of the elves who watch over them in Achahtai. After thousands of years of warring over whether the nation would be naturalistic or civilised, a once begrudging peace agreement was made between the peoples and the fae of the land, in response to the war efforts mounted against them by other nations. Now, the chaotic wild-lands of monsters unfathomable protect the settlements, whilst the military might of the settlements protect the wild land in kind, forming a most unpredictable and formidable defence.

Mana flows freely through the magical creatures of Achahtai and is also harassed by both the more combative peoples and the everyman alike. They wish to co-exist with mana and its magic, in spite of any magical anomalies - hoping to protect and improve the lives of all citizens and fae in doing so.

The Ichtabb

The Ichtabb live in harsh, barren and unforgiving desert land and mountain ranges. Crops are hard to grow, natural disasters and magical anomalies occur frequently, settling is difficult anywhere too far from the shore and the wild creatures are almost as terrible as those in Achahtai. It's difficult to even protect what settlements they have from the land itself and their population is consequently very small and even still, cannot survive without using magic.

The Ichtabb believe that their goddess, “Nodana” is simply testing them to gain mastery over mana well-enough that they can claim the fertile lands of another nation and truly prosper, dedicated as a civilisation to learning how to wield mana to its highest potentials. In doing so, the Ichtabb believe that they could even learn to manipulate and make all unfavourable magical anomalies become docile.

Galorvia

The people of Galorvia succeeded long ago in conquering, populating and settling all over their fertile lands. They eat well enough, have tamed most all of their beasts and focus now upon technology. Unfortunately, the reckless use of mana by the people and fae of Achahtai and Ichtabb causes mana storms and magical anomalies which affect even Galorvia and with catastrophic results.

Galorvia consequently wishes to see all roaming mana be held safely within mana crystals and to put an end to all magical casting. They trust only their military units to hold mana solely for the purposes of wielding magic, as simply wielding magic and never casting it releases no conscious mana into the world - and thus, they lead by example. To see their ends be accomplished, the Galorvians must conquer both Achahtai and the Ichtabb.

Every Galorvian soldier entrusted to hold mana within their themselves must also allow empty mana crystals to be placed into their bodies, so that when they die, rather than allowing their conscious mana to flow freely into the world, it becomes trapped within the mana crystals instead.
