The Warrior

Grand Master Marcus is a warrior of legend. He wears a full suit of two inch-thick Michtan metal armour over his body at all times, though he keeps the helmet off until it is time for battle.

This not only means that he is always ready for combat, but it allows even this tonne of great metal protection around the hulking, eight-foot human, to be nothing more than a second skin to him, moving with astounding speed and precision while wearing it.

He wields a great, double sided axe in battle, enchanted to vastly increase its weight at the razor edge of its blade, slicing through solid stone when Marcus is the one swinging it. Marcus could smash down a castle's wall with a few slams of the axe's blunt handle.

Marcus’ mana control, combined with perfect pacing and physical training, is what grants him such inhuman strength and speed. Even while weighing over two tonnes with himself, his armour and his axe, he moves and dodges faster than most adept rouges, and is able to make risky moves with his armour being so thick and strong that he is practically invincible in physical combat against anything lesser than a great dragon.

Marcus only knows certain essential spells to close his wounds up when needed, while exhausting most of his mana on intensifying his physical movements, in order to make them come faster and hit harder. He strategies as fast as he moves, and is without fear, always surprising the enemy with purest power and tenacity, whatever the situation.

The Teacher

If there's the teacher you like, and the one you hate, Marcus is in the middle. There's no fun and games on the surface. Students will do their work without nonsense, never being let off of a firm scolding and punishment without a by-the-books reason. But Marcus loves his students from the bottom of his heart, even the disobedient ones, and though he trains them hard, he would fight harder for them, and will avenge their deaths against any who attack the school.

When a student truly achieves, Marcus will be there to personally congratulate them. He stays awake many sleepless nights, making the perfect lessons plans for each individual student, helping them achieve their full potential, and sharing his legendary knowledge and skills as a Grand Master among warriors.

History

Marcus’ history is a very dark and well kept secret. He was born and raised as a slave. A very big slave. He grew to be so big and so strong that one day, whilst he and four others were carrying a chest full of his master’s possessions, he managed to rip the thing from the other three’s grasp and throw it at his master’s chariot, smashing it open and crushing him to death. He then wrestled free of the guards that tried to apprehend him and ran into the distant wilderness.

Unfortunately, one doesn’t simply run and survive in the wilderness as a former labouring slave that doesn’t know the first thing about being an outdoors man. It wasn’t long before he was shackled once more, but this time, he was to fight in the coliseum. Marcus trained and became bigger and stronger every day, killing ever-bigger, tougher and smarter foes. He drew in quite the crowd over the course of his six solid years of fighting, training and drinking.

What nobody had counted on was that Marcus would grow to be so powerful that he could grip into the stone walls of the coliseum itself with his very fingers, crushing it inwards to create a hold for him. They tried to shoot him, fight him, restrain him, but he was just too tough. Marcus escaped.

Queen Amora caught wind of the high-profile arena fighter’s breakout and hatched a plan of her own. She paid the pursuing owners of the arena to sell Marcus to her. Upon completing this transaction, she sent the former dungeon master of Iechi to capture him and then take him to their chambers.

There, Marcus was tortured brutally for two whole years whilst being told that he was “Grand Master Marcus, teacher at Iechi,” and that he had been brain washed by the Ahine nation to think otherwise. This was absurd, considering that Marcus remembered his life very well. But if you do nothing but torture and gaslight a man for two years, he will come to believe whatever you say.

Marcus now has no memory of his past. He believes in the past that Iechi has told him to believe in. He is the broken property of Queen Amora, and her loyal tool until the day he dies.
